Urbanism
Fourth Year
I designed a building located in Barrio Logan for homeless families with their kids. I used the shape of the site, which is a triangle, to create my building that the Northside facing the commercial street, the Eastside the 17th street, and Logan Ave as the Southwest side. Each side provides different services to promote positive living and opportunities. The building has five levels; the ground floor is job training (sewing job) and selling products, an outdoor playground, reception, retail places, and mental health and substance abuse services that start from the ground floor to the fifth level. Legal assistance is on the second floor. The living space, which is 90 units, and the education spaces all start from the second level to the fifth floor. The leisure place is on the second and fourth floor. Also, a gym is on the third level, and an indoor playground is on the fifth floor. All the units serve the daily bases of members of occupants, so they have small kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces. Only 14 of the units have a loft used for a bedroom. Also, 20 units face the bay, and the rest have a view of the city.
Programs used: Rhino, Photoshop, and Lumion.
