In this project, I learned a new method of designing a model by selecting and drawing an existing building, then developing it by using the basic tools of splitting, extending, and trimming the massing shape to create 16 new shapes and choosing one of the 16 resulting shapes to design a small live-work/shop keeper unit for a flower shop. I implemented my choice by building a physical model. The shop building has public and private spaces; the ground floor is a flower shop with storage for tools and plants. The second floor is a living space that has a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, and the indoor deck is located above the flower shop; the transparency floor and walls of the deck allow the shopkeeper to enjoy the growing plants on the walls of the shop.
