The approach was based on horizontal planes and surfaces as a driver for a form that facilitates program and circulation. I started the project by producing line drawing as a generation tool that creates subdivisions to organize and distribute areas on two-dimensional surfaces. The arrangement of multiple planes leads us to a 3D composition where space becomes qualitative. Having a model generated by line/grid drawings helps me define three massing volumes; these volumes represent different enclose spaces that I designed for three specific users. The cubical structure serves artist-in-residence that occupies by three other users; musicians, Filmmakers/videographers, and modern dancers. The dimension of the cube is 80Wx80Hx80L feet, 1/8” in scale. The floating site is next to the USS Midway Museum.

Programs used: Rhino, Lumion, and Photoshop.
